NBA Rumors – Andray Blatche to San Antonio Spurs? - Gather.com

San Antonio made another terrific run in the Western Conference last season, but the aging Spurs need more youth added to their roster, and the latest rumor from ESPN's Mark Stein could have the team adding another piece to their roster, which could give the team the depth they need to compete for an NBA title this season.

Andray Blatche hit the big-time in 2010-11 with the Washington Wizards as the young center averaged over 16 points and eight rebounds, making most experts believe he was becoming one of the top big men in the league, but attitude and off-court issues had those numbers drop significantly last year, and the Wizards used their amnesty clause and released the 25-year-old.

San Antonio has a good group of veterans, and adding a talented center to add depth could make this a tough team to beat in the Western Conference next season. Tim Duncan and company could be just what the former second-round draft pick needs in his career, and the front office for the Spurs could add Blatche for nearly nothing as the Wizards are still on the hook for his salary over the next three years.

The NBA has given several players over the years second and third chances, and Blatche will get a look from some team this summer, but the Spurs are chasing Oklahoma City and the LA Lakers, and adding more depth to their front-court could make this a very dangerous team.
