NBA Rumors: Tracy McGrady to San Antonio Spurs or New York Knicks? - Opposing Views

The San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks more or less have their rosters set at this point, but both are still willing to make last minute add-ons if they feel like there is a player out there who will be able to contribute something next year.

Who are both teams currently looking at? Fifteen-year NBA veteran, Tracy McGrady.

Last year, McGrady averaged five points and three rebounds in 16 minutes of action per game with the Atlanta Hawks. The year before that, with the Detroit Pistons, he averaged eight points and four rebounds in 23 minutes of action per game.

At one point in his career McGrady was one of the most prolific and game-changing players in basketball, but injuries and age have taken their toll. Right now, it’s tough to envision him cracking anyone’s rotation.

Despite that, both the Spurs and Knicks are looking into possibly bringing him on board, so make of that what you will. As reported by Adrian Wojnarowksi of Yahoo! Sports:

Still searching for an NBA franchise willing to guarantee a contract for next season, seven-time All-Star Tracy McGrady worked out for the San Antonio Spurs this week at the team's practice facility, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Next up for McGrady on Thursday is a workout for the New York Knicks, league sources said.

If McGrady doesn’t end up getting an offer from NBA team this summer, he’s expected to go play overseas.
