The SAN ANTONIO SPURS have inked a multi-year deal for CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WOAI-A/SAN ANTONIO to continue as the NBA team's flagship radio station. WOAI has carried SPURS games for all but one season since the SPURS entered the NBA from the ABA in 1976. The deal between SPURS SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT and CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA & ENTERTAINMENT includes airing the WNBA's SAN ANTONIO SILVER STARS and AHL's SAN ANTONIO RAMPAGE on sister Sports KTKR-A (TICKET 760).
âWe are extremely excited to renew our outstanding broadcast partnership with the SAN ANTONIO SPURSâ said CLEAR CHANNEL SAN ANTONIO President and Market Manager PAM MCKAY. âThe SPURS organization is one of the finest in professional sports and 1200 WOAI is proud to be the place where Texans tune in for SPURS play-by-play and specialty programming. We are looking forward to discovering new ways to utilize the power of our two brands to positively impact our community and make the Spurs fan experience the best in the league.â
"We have a wonderful history with CLEAR CHANNEL. So much so that I feel WOAI and the SPURS are practically synonymous,â said SPURS SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT Director of Broadcasting MIKE KICKIRILLO. âWe are extremely pleased to continue this relationship and call CLEAR CHANNEL home for the SPURS, SILVER STARS and RAMPAGE."
